About the Item

19th century miniature mahogany chest of drawers from England. This was most likely a very fine salesman's sample. In the 18th and 19th centuries, craftsmen would carry these small examples around the country to show potential clients what they could make and the quality of their work. This fine example has beautifully grained wood and five drawers. the bottom three drawers have ivory key escutcheons. It has a molded bottom edge and is supported on lovely hand turned feet. This would be a great jewelry box!
