Antique Victorian marquetry jewelry box with satinwood and ebony stringing - fine quality with aged patina - featuring veneered top and sides - diamond shaped satinwood key escutcheon - brass button/finial to the top - the interior of the box lined with paper - the interior lid with floral decorated découpage - original brass hinges - 19th century paper label affixed to the base - United Kingdom - circa 1880. Excellent antique condition - missing key and interior tray - replaced handle/finial and interior strap - later découpage to the interior lid - minor tears to the interior paper lining - scuffs, scratches, very minor loss of veneer at one corner - aged patina - some hinge screws replaced - paper loss/wear to the base - signs of age and use. Size/Dimensions - Medium - 7 1/2" Wide x 5 1/4" Deep x 3 1/8" High.
