About the Item

This is a good quality Art Deco period lidded Box, made of hardwood, possibly Beech, probably French in origin and dating to circa 1925. The box has a rectangular shape with rounded edges and a hinged lid fitted with a small lifting handle. This box is very well handmade of a mid / light brown hardwood, possibly beech, with jointed corners. The lid is hinged with steel hinges of good quality. The lid is fitted with a cream colored plastic lifting handle ( possibly ivorine). The lid is a good snug fit to the base. The box has a green felt to the base giving protection to the surface it might sit on. This box has a variety of uses, such as keeping jewelry, small keepsakes or trinkets, on the desk or dressing table. Overall a high quality finely made box.
