About the Item
Large, high-quality late Biedermeier casket box in walnut with precious wood inlay and inlaid lid motif.
Walnut veneered on maple and solid with numerous inlays in precious woods, maple, and ebony.
On the top of the lid is an oval motif of an inlaid peasant couple in dyed wood and a large ebony background.
Inlaid brass key crest, a black knob with a white dot on the lid. Working iron lock, brass hinges, and chain.
Restored condition with shellac hand-polished.
