Charming mid-century French wooden box in the shape of a small house, handcrafted in the 1950s. A unique piece of French Folk Art.
At first glance it looks like a decorative house model, but it cleverly opens to reveal practical storage for jewelry, sewing supplies, keepsakes, or other small items.
Made of plywood with hand-cut details including scalloped trim, chimney, windows, and a door.
The surface shows a beautiful aged patina with expected scratches and marks from use, adding to its character.
The pitched roof lifts to reveal four removable interior compartments. Once removed, two larger compartments are hidden beneath, offering generous storage space inside this deceptively playful design.
This one-of-a-kind French artisan box would be perfect as a jewelry box, sewing box, or collectible storage piece.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Patina, wear, scratches, and minor marks consistent with age and use.
