About the Item

This is an Italian bronze small rectangular jewelry/vanity portrait box. It depicts an embossed bronze lid decorated in the center with a hand painted 19th century round portrait of a lady with a hat adorned with flowers. The portrait is signed Massi. An engraved trellis pattern surrounds it. A relief of olive branches around the border of the lid enhance the lid decor. The sides of the box are embellished with a garland of scrolls of acanthus leaves and trumpets of bouquets of flowers. A old gold beige color velvet covers the inside of the box.
