This very rare and entirely made of brass antique box comes with some of the most beautiful and crisp Arts and Crafts patterns that you will have ever seen. Not only is this the most striking Arts and Crafts design that we have ever seen, it also is in the best condition that you could ever hope to find it. If ever the term museum quality AND condition was applicable then it would be for this antique gem. Turning otherwise ordinary objects into true works of art is what this maker was known for and never more so than with this antique box. It is works of art like this that have (and still do) lifted the spirit of many an individual and they have brought great style and beauty in living spaces of enthousiasts the world over. This finest quality box was made by Germany's Erhard Sohne in circa 1900-1905 and its aesthetic beauty will make people want to pick it up and study the workmanship. This rare and truly stunning box comes with the Erhard Sohne maker's mark on the equally mint bottom of this box. The only thing missing is the key, but another special something about this rare antique is that when we opened this box, we noticed that the original velvet lining of the inside of the lid had come loose. With it being in perfect condition too, we could have simply glued it back in. However, on the back of this mint lining is a fragment of a late 1800s or early 1900s Erhard Sohne catalogue showing that the rare 'Warenzeichen' or maker's mark (the lion) is indeed the one that they used. We are certain this amazing artisanship antique too will soon grace the desk, vanity or side table of a true collector or Arts and Crafts enthousiast somewhere on our beautiful planet. A beautiful antique and all handcrafted jewelry box with a striking velvet lining. This rare and larger size jewelry box or casket makes a beautiful accessory for a lady with an eye for fine arts. It is a very well made gem and highly practical with seven drawers and a good working lock and key in the right door and two sliding brass 'locks' in the inside of the left door. This box opens and closes perfectly and its striking presence will grace your vanity or dresser in a way that no modern piece ever could. The drawers come with a stunning blue lining and the three 'tiers' each have their own kind of interior. The top tier may have been made for pocket watches or circular brooches. The one below could have been made for necklaces and/or bracelets and the two bottom tiers, consisting of four drawers would have been used for all other types of jewelry.
