About the Item
This offer is for one of our rare Majolica items, an exceptional tobacco box pot or jar out of the sack series by Johann Maresch from the beginning of the 20th century. The beautiful worked Majolica box shows a flour bag with a Noble man sitting in it, who also forms the detachable cover. Like every J. Maresch figurine the artist took great value on details, like the face of the man or the realistically textured base. The box is in original condition and marked with the famous "JM" / Austria. Found at an estate sale in Vienna, Austria.
