About the Item

Lipton's Souvenir brass tea caddy from the British Empire Exhibition in 1924, held at Wembley. This is a nice piece of history from an important event. The British Empire Exhibition was held in Wembley in 1924, after being delayed twice by two different wars. Wembley Stadium was built for the occasion, although it was called Empire Stadium at a that time. Over 27 million visitors attended to see exhibits from all over the British Colonies. This was a major event and we feel so lucky to have a piece, although small, from this interesting event.
