A magnificent large antique European forged iron seventeen light candelabrum. Dating from the 18th to early 19th century, Continental Europe, most likely Spanish, most impressive monumental size, made long before the advent of electricity, this finely crafted hand forged black wrought iron floor lamp features seventeen candle nozzles in three tiers with scattered remnants of the original gilt decoration. Having two adjustable rotating arms with supports on a central standard, rising on distinctive tripartite base, with decorative spiral twist and undulating ironwork. With its palatial castle size, simplistic utilitarian design and distinct sculptural form, this rare Medieval Gothic inspired floor candelabra / free-standing candlestick is sure to elevate any space! Dimensions: (approx) 65" High, 33" Wide, 17.5" Deep Approx 70 lbs Condition Report: Overall a superb example, in great original antique condition with beautifully aged patina. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Attractive appearance, nicely patinated, scattered remnants of original gilding remain, oxidation, accretions wear commensurate with centuries of age and use.
