Description:
Decorative wall-mounted candle holder from the Tenera series by Royal Copenhagen, designed by Berte Jessen. The piece features hand-decorated faience with the characteristic ornamental pattern and warm, earthy color palette associated with the Tenera series. The sculptural form combines functional use with a strong decorative presence as a wall object.
The reverse bears a signature with the year 1963, allowing for clear chronological attribution. The object is conceived as a wall lampette intended to hold a candle.
Condition:
Good vintage condition. No visible restorations. Minor signs of age and use may be present and are consistent with the period.
Series note:
The Tenera series was developed in the 1960s by several female designers working for Royal Copenhagen and represents a modern, decorative approach to Scandinavian ceramic design of the period.
