About the Item
Bold and handsome, this five-light wrought iron candelabra features two rampant dragons in silhouette at its center, surrounded by leaves and tendrils as if the dragons were in their forest lair. The stylized approach to the animals is reminiscent of the work of Wilhelm Hunt Diederich in America and Alessandro Mazzucotelli in Italy, but this piece was probably made by a Swedish artisan. The iron is beautifully forged, and is given a warm, black-brown patina.
