About the Item

A Swedish wrought iron candelabra from the 1940. Hand-forged with a spiral base and four curved arms, this piece blends Scandinavian Modern elegance with a raw, Brutalist edge. Both functional and sculptural, it brings character to any setting. Pieces like this grew out of a Scandinavian tradition of blacksmithing that, by the mid-20th century, was merging with modernist ideals. The result was a wave of expressive ironwork - sometimes pared back and functional, sometimes leaning toward the raw material honesty associated with Brutalism. This candelabra sits in that space, at once decorative and architectural. Whether placed on a dining table, sideboard, or mantel, it reads as much as an art object as a functional candleholder. Its graphic silhouette and hand-wrought texture make it an atmospheric piece that works beautifully in both contemporary and vintage interiors. • Height 32 cm (12.6 in), Length 23 cm (9.06 in) • Wrought iron • Period: 1940s • Made in Sweden • Good vintage condition - wear consistent with age and use
