About the Item

This Napoleon III candelabra combining gilt bronze with dark patinated bronze for a strong, elegant contrast. It stands on a tripartite base with finely cast gilt bronze lion-paw feet and rich acanthus leaf decoration. The central fluted column rises into a detailed capital that supports four candle arms. At the top, the candelabra holds four candle branches arranged in a balanced composition. The central candle holder, executed entirely in gilt bronze, rises slightly above the others and serves as the focal point of the design. Surrounding it are three additional holders, each supported by gracefully curved arms cast in dark patinated bronze, creating a refined contrast with their gilt bronze cups. Well-proportioned and decorative, the candelabra works beautifully on a mantel, console, or as a standalone accent. Its classical forms, warm gilding, and solid construction capture the refined character of 19th-century French Empire Revival design.
