About the Item

A refined pair of Model 8013 candelabras designed by Paavo Tynell and produced by Taito Oy in the 1930s. Executed in nickel-plated brass, these elegant three-arm candleholders capture the early expression of Tynell’s design language: graceful curves, sculptural silhouettes, and a masterful sense of balance. The arms sweep outward in fluid arcs, meeting at a beautifully turned central column. Subtle detailing and soft reflections from the nickel surface give the pieces a timeless presence, equally suited for dining tables, sideboards, or mantelpieces. These rare early examples showcase Tynell’s ability to elevate everyday objects into poetic decorative forms long before his lighting designs made him internationally renowned. A distinctive and collectible pair from Finland’s most iconic lighting and metalwork designer.
