About the Item
A striking and finely crafted pair of six-light candelabra in silver-plated nickel silver (marked "N.S."), attributed to the esteemed Swedish retailer and silversmith A.G. Dufva. These pieces date from around 1900 and reflect the exuberant Rococo Revival style, with richly scrolling arms, acanthus leaves, and organic forms throughout.
A.G. Dufva (active late 19th – early 20th century) was a prominent figure in Swedish decorative arts, operating a prestigious jewelry and silverware firm in Stockholm. Known for high-quality craftsmanship, Dufva supplied both genuine silver and silver-plated objects, often collaborating with top Scandinavian manufacturers. His shop catered to an affluent clientele and was renowned for elegant, finely made household items and decorative wares.
These candelabra demonstrate the refined elegance associated with Dufva’s firm, combining bold Rococo ornamentation with practical design and excellent proportions.

The candlesticks consist of two parts and are removable.
One leaf decoration at the top of the foot is missing.
There is also light wear to the patina on a flat part of the foot (see photo).
