About the Item
Pair of Swedish Modernist candle holders for 5 candles was designed by Gunnar Ander. Produced by Ystad-Metall, located in the town of Ystad in Sweden.
Entirely made of brass, this playful design is based on cones and spheres assembled by brass rods. It reminds postmodern or Memphis creations, even if it was designed a long time before this movement began.
Gunnar Ander is a Swedish artist born in 1908. He created many objects in metal and glass which are represented in museums in Sweden. He collaborated with Ystad Metall until his death in 1976.
Both candelabras are signed signed with the Ystad Metall logotype and the stylized initials of Gunnar Ander.
