About the Item

Pair of Swedish Modernist candle-sticks, designed by Gunnar Ander in the 1960s. Produced by Ystad-Metall, located in the town of Ystad in Sweden. Entirely made of brass, this playful design is based on a cone with 3 spheres connected by brass rods. It reminds postmodern or Memphis creations, even if it was designed a long time before this movement began. Gunnar Ander is a Swedish artist born in 1908. He created many objects in metal and glass which are represented in museums in Sweden. He collaborated with Ystad Metall until his death in 1976. Both candelabras are signed signed with the Ystad Metall logotype and the stylized initials of Gunnar Ander.
