About the Item
PIET HEIN - SCANDINAVIAN MODERN
First edition of the beautiful candelabrum by the Danish modernist and designer, poet, mathematician and architect Piet Hein.
The candelabrum has seven arms and in solid brass. It was named "Ursa Major", as the candle holders are arranged as the star constellation. Piet Hein designed this to remind him of his home in Denmark, while living in Argentina, since the star constellation is not visible in the southern hemisphere.
Designed in 1953. First edition and small production.
A beautiful decorative piece of design.
