This rare candelabra, designed by the iconic Scandinavian modernist Hans-Agne Jakobsson, is a beautiful example of his work from the 1960s. Known for his innovative approach to lighting, Jakobsson created this brass candelabra, Model L29, a piece of minimalistic art that captures the essence of Scandinavian modern design.
Made from brass, the candelabra stands at 20 cm and is designed to hold four thin candles. The piece is marked underneath, confirming its authenticity and origin.
Despite its age, the candelabra remains in good condition, with only minor scratches and some tarnish, which are common in vintage brass items and add to its unique character.
ABOUT HANS-AGNE JAKOBSSON
Hans-Agne Jakobsson (1919-2009) was a Swedish interior architect and furniture designer, born in Havdhem, Gotland. He became famous in the 1950s and 1960s for his elegant and modern lamp designs. After completing his apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker at 18, Jakobsson earned an architecture degree in Gothenburg.
He worked as an industrial designer for General Motors and assisted Carl Malmsten and Werner West. In 1951, he founded his own lighting company, Hans-Agne Jakobsson AB, in Småland. His brass lamps and the iconic wood veneer lamps from his subsidiary, Ellysett, became trademarks. Jakobsson's lighting fixtures are known for their soft, soothing light and meticulous design, embodying his unique lighting philosophy.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. There is a slight muted finish on the small areas where the arms of the candelabra are welded together. There is minor wear, with subtle stains and some scratches, particularly on the foot of the candelabra. The candelabra is thorougly cleaned.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
