About the Item
A beautifully hand-crafted Swedish four-arm wooden candelabra designed by Stig Johnsson and produced by Smålandsslöjd, Värnamo, in 1979. Made from richly grained pine, the piece showcases the warm tonality and organic patterns characteristic of Scandinavian folk craft during the late 20th century.
The candelabra features four turned candle cups mounted on a sculptural, flowing horizontal arm, all supported by a solid carved base. Its form combines traditional Swedish slöjd craftsmanship with a decorative, almost modernist silhouette. The underside bears the factory stamp “SMÅLANDSSLÖJD – Värnamo – Sweden – Design Stig Johnsson” as well as a handwritten date, 1979.
A charming and authentic example of regional Swedish woodworking—ideal for rustic, Scandinavian modern, or eclectic interiors.
Condition: Light wear consistent with age; beautiful patina to the wood.
