About the Item

An impressive pair of altar or table candlesticks made of turned and carved wood, lacquered in deep black with gilt bronze details. The design is in keeping with the 18th-century historicist style, evoking architectural forms and liturgical ornamentation. Each piece stands on a hemispherical base with three claw feet, providing great visual and physical stability. The body, divided into bulbous sections and truncated cone-shaped sections, presents a rich combination of volumes and vertical proportions, culminating in a wide candleholder in bronze or antique brass. The combination of lacquered black and glossy gold gives these pieces a restrained yet sophisticated sculptural presence, ideal for classical settings, ecclesiastical interiors, galleries, or as a decorative accent in contrasting contemporary spaces.
