About the Item
A Dutch Brass Hanukkah Lamp, made in a Repoussé fashion between the late 18th to early 19th century.
Backplate prominently displays a heart shape at its top center above a dotted-bordered Star of David.
Numerous Repoussé floral and foliate motifs decorate the backplate among the fretwork designs and finished with petal-shaped borders.
Two side panels swing open and are cut out in bird shapes with hooked beaks. The side panels along with the lower part of the backplate support the eight oval oil receptacles with pointed tapering spouts.
A rectangular pinched drip pan is attached to the bottom of the Hanukkah lamp.
