About the Item
A beautifully crafted green glass hurricane lamp, handblown in the Empoli region of Italy during the 1960s. This vetro verde piece captures the essence of mid-century Italian glass design—blending functional elegance with artisanal technique.
The lamp features a wide circular pedestal base and an elegantly curled finger loop handle, topped by a baluster-shaped lantern with an integrated candle holder. Its softly rounded form diffuses candlelight with warmth and clarity, creating a cosy and atmospheric glow.
Measuring 22 cm high by 14 cm wide and 13 cm deep, this smaller hurricane lamp is in very good vintage condition, with only light wear consistent with age and use. A charming and collectible example of Italian Empoli glass, perfect for display or use as an ambient light source

View AllGreen Opaline Jadeite Glass Trumpet Vase, Empoli Italy, 1960s
By Stelvia, Empoli
Located in Glasgow, GB
An elegant pale green opaline glass trumpet vase, attributed to Stelvia of Empoli, Italy, likely produced as part of the Opalina Fiorentina range, circa 1960s. This mid-century vase is a fine example of jadeite glass—a softly translucent type of opaline glassware popularised by Stelvia and echoed in the work of Murano glassmakers during the same period.
Handblown in mint green opaline glass, the vase features a classical trumpet silhouette: a flared conical body tapering into a rounded base, poised on a slender stem with a gently splayed foot. The opaline surface captures ambient light beautifully, producing a softly luminous, milky glow characteristic of the Stelvia opaline glass from this era.
Measuring 18 cm in height and 12 cm in diameter, the vase is in very good vintage condition. A single, pinpoint chip to the outer rim is visible only under close inspection and has been clearly documented in photographs. There are no cracks, repairs, or clouding to note.
It works beautifully as a standalone glass accent or grouped with other Italian opaline glass vessels in complementary pastel shades such as lilac, baby blue, or alabaster. A timeless piece for collectors of vintage Italian glassware...

Victorian Green Glass Thorn Vase with Sterling Silver Rim, Czech, circa 1890s
By Kralik Glassworks, John Walsh Walsh
Located in Glasgow, GB
A late Victorian thorn vase in green art glass, likely produced in Czechoslovakia circa 1890s, attributed to the Kralik glassworks. The piece features a rounded, organic base that narrows into a slender neck, with the entire form encased in applied thorn-like protrusions—each individually manipulated by hand to create a tactile, botanical surface.
The rim is fitted with a hallmarked sterling silver collar, added in England upon import—typical of the period, when Bohemian glass was embellished for the British market. The marks are visible and legible, offering provenance and adding to its historical appeal.
This vase evokes stylistic parallels with the thorn glass...
