About the Item
1960s, Sweden. Featuring a shield design with a curved top, these candle holders have hammered textures that enhance light reflection. The designer’s and maker’s marks are engraved on the back.

Lars August Holmström was born in 1894 in Gävleborg County and died in Båstad. He was a Swedish mid-century art smith. Holmström participated in the Paris Exhibition and hit here with candlesticks and chandeliers and also with silver work. He is mentioned in French art magazines, where his work is referred to as a masterpiece of art.
