About the Item

An elegant and high quality pair of French 19th century Empire st. patinated Bronze and Ormolu sconces. Each two arm sconce is centered by a beautiful foliate bottom finial where the charming richly chased cherubs are standing. The cherubs display impressive and grand Ormolu wings which extend upwards while they are holding the 'S' scrolled arms leading to the candle cups. Each circular candle cup displays finely detailed reeded and Coeur-de-Rai patterns. Each cherub is also decorated with an Ormolu foliate decorated waist belt. All original gilt and rich warm patina throughout.
