Pair of gilt bronze Baroque style wall appliques French, late 19th Century Height 68cm, width 39cm, depth 17cm The appliques in this superb pair of works are wrought from gilt bronze in the Baroque style and feature mirrors and lights. Each piece features a cartouche shaped frame, richly moulded with a host of Baroque style detailing, including putti, acanthus leaves, and scrolling forms. Each applique is centred with a similarly shaped mirror, and each is adorned below with twin gilt bronze light branches, with each branch modelled in an ornately scrolling and foliate manner.
