Pair of gilt bronze, Gothic Revival sconces with fierce dragon heads.
If you are a collector of Gothic antiques then this rare and top quality made pair of dragon sconces could be yours to own and enjoy. Handcrafted circa 1900-1910 these detailed bronze sconces would have initially been gilt, but over the many decades most of the gilding has warn off. However, that usage and natural aging has given them an ancient patina and great character. It is great to have found a pair, because these truly are a rare find, but what makes them really stand out, are the mean and fierce looking dragon faces. They bite angrily into the sockets and it is clear to see, they don't intend to let go. This matching pair is in very good condition and with the bulbs burning in the evenings they create a marvelous atmosphere in the space they are in. Thanks to the integrated hooks on the backs both these sconces are easy and safely mounted on your wall and perfectly ready for you to use and enjoy.
