About the Item
Superb Spanish painted and gilt wood flambeau of the 18th century
The lower half of the flambeau is hand carved with vegetal and acanthus decoration and the upper part of the body is fluted in the Louis XVI style and topped by a corolla-shaped support for the candle.
This flambeau that comes from a church was converted into electric light in the 60 and a false candle covered by real bee wax was set up on the top of it.
