Beautiful Louis XV period candlestick in gilded bronze after the "King's model", created in the mid-18th century by François-Thomas Germain to serve the needs of royal houses This very pretty “King’s model” torch is in chiseled and gilded bronze, the shaft decorated with gadroons alternating with hollow channels, the molded base. This torch, candle holder, is similar to the King's model, created by François-Thomas Germain and intended for the royal houses. François-Thomas Germain is one of the most famous French goldsmiths of the 18th century, son of Thomas Germain, architect and goldsmith, whom Voltaire called "the artist with the divine hand".
