About the Item
This is a stunning pair of "dee handle" machine age candlesticks by one of Chase's top designers, Albert Riemann. Designed in 1933, this design is model 21006 and they are well-documented, appearing on page 129 of Weber's Art Deco in America and in other literature.
There is an impressed manufacturer's mark to the underside of each example "Chase Design by Reimann".
Condition is good. Each candlestick has been recently polished and they appear to have been lacquered to prevent tarnishing. There are some small indentations along the edges and there is some bending to the square bobeches. But none of these minor flaws detract from the overall presentation of these rare, iconic candlesticks by one of the great designers of the machine age era.
