About the Item
Douglas Nash left Tiffany for Toledo, Ohio and and Libbey Glass company where his Silhouette glassware line was the height of fashion in the 1930's. The opalescent stemware and serving items were just what was needed to chase the Depression era blues away. The camel candleholder is seldom encountered on the market and this one is in perfect original condition. It's hard to capture the milky opalescence of the camel, so look at the photos closely to see how wonderful this on is. The foot and bowl are blown and the stems were molded and you can see tiny bubbles and the tool marks is you look closely. Nash Silhouette line was the perfect blend of the use of machinery and hand craft to create art deco masterpieces.
