About the Item
German Pure Silver Candlesticks, 19th Century
Elegant pair of candlesticks made of the highest grade silver (marked 1000), crafted in the Neo-Rococo style of the second half of the 19th century. Each piece features a base lavishly decorated with scrolls, shells, and garlands, upon which rises a cornucopia supported by classical male and female figures, finely modeled in Greco-Roman attire. The top is topped with garlands of fruit and flowers, a symbol of abundance, and the candlestick holder features plant motifs.
