Heading : Gilded silver candlesticks with glass drip pans
Date : c1880
Origin : Probably French based on very similar glass and silver examples
Decoration : Gadrooned drip pans with glass liners. Acanthus leaf cast decoration, beaded collar, further acanthus leaves aove reeded conical section. Annular acanthus leaf cast section with glass interior. The lower section of the stem is a mirror of the decoration above. Domed glass base with silver surround and further cast acanthus leaf decoration above and scroll terminals. The terraced rim supports four acanthus leaf feet. Tests as 925 silver, but probably 958
Size : Height 33cm. base diameter 20.2cm
Condition : The gilding is rather worn but there is no significant damage. There are some worn marks.
