About the Item
This elegant pair of floral candle holders was designed by Gunnar Ander for Ystad Metall, a Swedish metalworks company renowned for its refined decorative objects during the mid-20th century.
For candles of ~1 cm (0.45”) diameter.
Measures: 21 x 12.5 x 6.5 cm.
In excellent condition.
Stamped.
Each piece features a gilded metal base with two gracefully curved stems, each supporting two flower-shaped glass cup designed to hold a single taper candle.
The glass blossoms - delicately molded and perched like blooming petals -bring a sense of organic movement to the composition. The oval base provides visual grounding and stability, while the upward-reaching stems evoke the natural elegance of growing flora.
Gunnar Ander (1908–1976) was a prolific Swedish designer and architect whose work spanned furniture, lighting, and decorative arts.
