Indian Bronze Cobra Candlestick, Naga Lamp, Hand-Hammered, Circa 1930.
This sculptural candlestick is a rare early 20th-century Indian bronze Naga lamp, depicting a rearing cobra emerging from a coiled base and crowned with a lotus-form candle cup.
Origin is more precisely Rajasthan or Gujarat region.
In Hindu and Jain traditions, the cobra (Naga) is a sacred symbol of protection, fertility, and spiritual power. Such lamps were traditionally used in temples and household shrines, making this piece not only decorative but deeply symbolic.
The surface displays beautifully hand-hammered repoussé work. Naturally aged patina developed over decades.
A sculptural statement piece for collectors of Asian art, bohemian or eclectic interiors.
