About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown aqua green and ruby red Italian art glass hourglass shaped candle sticks. They are documented to designer Alfredo Barbini. Each piece has a "Barbini Murano" and white "Made In Italy" item number label. They are also both signed "Barbini Murano" along the bottom edge. The clear candle holders themselves are small enough that when you turn them upside down, you could use the pieces as bowls. They could have a dual purpose if desired. Would make great display pieces on any table, dresser or mantel. You will be able to showcase them as decorative pieces in any room. Late Mid-century era, circa 1970-1980s. They measure 6" across x 3 3/8" high. The width of the holders is 1" across, so a candle would be less than that to fit inside.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
