Pair of candlesticks. Bronze. 16th century. A pair of bronze candlesticks with a raised, circular base enhanced by projecting, smooth moldings, a central axis decorated with discs, and a bulbous upper section. They belong to the type known as "spool candlesticks" and were common in certain European schools; for example, they can already be found in Spanish Gothic pieces, becoming very common thereafter.
