About the Item

A pair of impressive French mid 19th century Louis XV st. ormolu and Rouge Royale marble cassolettes. The marble bases are ornamented with ormolu acanthus leaf designs. Each with two handles in the shape of S scrolls and acanthus leaf designs. The handles are joined by a floral ormolu garland on each side. At the top are oval ormolu borders with berried finials.
