About the Item

An elegant and high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period ormolu candlesticks. Each candlestick is raised by a circular base with a fine beaded wrap around band and richly chased tied berried laurel wreath. The fluted socle shaped pedestals display lovely grapes and grape leaves. The tapered central supports are adorned with beautiful finely detailed swaging berried laurel garlands and oak leave in a striking satin and burnished finish. All original gilt throughout.
