About the Item

An elegant and most decorative pair of French mid 19th century Ormolu, Bronze and Carrara marble candlesticks. This stunning pair are each raised on circular white Carrara marble bases with a mottled edge accented by a beaded Ormolu band. Above is the patinated Bronze bottom tier elevated on three baluster shaped Ormolu supports and centered by a large scale Ormolu amphora. The legs curve inward before scrolling outward and leading to richly detailed eagle heads holding swaging Ormolu chains in their mouths. Above is an Ormolu urn with mottled bands and a beaded socle below a richly detailed basket designed candle cup and original Ormolu saucer.
