About the Item
A pair of elegant Grand Tour candlesticks crafted from golden travertine marble and richly adorned with patinated bronze mounts.
The stems feature engraved Egyptian Revival friezes depicting figures and symbols inspired by ancient Egyptian iconography—an iconic expression of 19th-century fascination with antiquity during the Grand Tour era.
The bronze candle sockets are detailed with engraved lotus capitals and fitted with loose bronze drip pans. Both candlesticks present a beautiful, natural patina along with minor, unobtrusive signs of age that do not detract from their overall appearance.
