About the Item
Pair of candlesticks in gilded and sculpted bronze. The stem is adorned with a frieze of Greek waves that separate the upper, polished part from the lower part that is richly decorated with palmettes, small flowers, and gadrooning. It is topped by a socket that is delicately engraved with flowering branches on a matte background. Each candlestick rests on a circular base embellished with leafy scrollwork, small flowers, and water-leaf.
