About the Item

Renaissance period painted and giltwood candle holder or pricket - featuring four elaborately hand carved winged cherubs beneath an octogonal platform with the original hand forged iron pricket, all resting on a column consisting of four upright tapered and circular supports, the upper section and column tops adorned with expertly carved acanthus leaves - original warm aged patina - round base - France - circa 1580. Excellent antique condition - warm aged patina - paint and gilding loss - no apparent restoration - structurally sound - signs of age and use. Size/Dimensions - Large - 7 1/4" Diameter x 20 3/4" High.
