This exceptional pair of Victorian sterling silver candlesticks was crafted by the renowned silversmiths Martin, Hall
Co. Ltd. and assayed in Sheffield between 1899 and 1900. Known for their exquisite craftsmanship and refined designs, Martin, Hall
Co. produced silver of exceptional quality, highly sought after by collectors.
Each candlestick stands at 7 inches tall with a 3.5-inch square base and is weighted. The design features a Corinthian column shaft, meticulously detailed with acanthus leaf capitals—a hallmark of classical architecture. The bases are adorned with bold rams' head mounts, symbolizing strength and authority, connected by garland swags that add an elegant neoclassical touch.
