About the Item
This is a lovely Mid-Century Modern art glass block vase or candle holder made by the Swedish manufacturer Pukeberg and designed by Uno Westerberg. It is a solid, heavy, molded, rectangular block with hemispherical recesses—two on each long wall, one at the bottom, and a narrow one as a "light holder" (to hold a single-stem flower or a slim candle).

This cheerful and bright object provides an authentic and joyful look into the liveliness of the late 1960s design period. While keeping its strictly geometric shape, its transparency allows us to discover many fine details from constantly changing viewing angles.
A successful model, dating from 1967, cataloged under number 403, it was introduced in the main catalog in 1975.
Pukeberg, one of Sweden's oldest glass factories (1871), is situated in Nybro, Småland, and part of what is known as Glasriket (The Kingdom of Glas).
