FIGURAL CENTERPIECE LADY CHERUBS SILVERPLATE CANDLES
$990List Price
About the Item
A fine circa 1880 silverplate figural centerpiece by Reed Barton, of Taunton MASS, a 3-dimensional, tall, draped maiden pouring wine into a cup, standing on a platform decorated with fruit, foliage, and butterlies; the interior engraved with flowers and leaves; with an applied pierced rim on the edge of the interior of the bowl; two candle holders at the far edge of each rim; with a center stanchion of two; 3-dimensional cupids holding a garland of roses, all on four; applied pedestal feet.
Dimensions: height 13 1/2 inches by 15 1/4 inches across candleholders by 7 3/4 inches wide. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. Minor loss to silverplate, otherwise in excellent condition. Satisfaction guaranteed. Musuems have been collecting silverplate for some years; it is a neglected area and the amount of casting and handwork in the pieces is phenomenal.
