About the Item

This antique candleholder is unsigned and unmarked, but believed to have been made in the United States. The cast spelter candleholder depicts a robed woman with outstretched arms which function as a double candleholder. This stylized female cast metal candleholder has been cold painted resulting in a very dark, almost black matte green, or oxidized gun metal patina which adds to the character of this piece. This finish almost obliterates the ornate and stylized detailed features of the figure, but appear and subsequently, disappear under differing light conditions in the room.
