About the Item

Lovely early 1800s antique Swedish mora clock with stunning hand painted detail on the body and hood in tromnpe l'oeil fashion. Measures: 215cm. This original 1800s mora clock has a beautiful face with a clean patina and some enamel missing/lifting on the face. The clock body is distressed as befits its age and has the usual wood movement found in clocks of this age. the clock is sold 'as is' : as a decorative piece only with the original mechanism and pendulum but not guaranteed to be in working order - If you want it working we can fit a professional hi torque battery mechanism for time keeping ( +£295) or you can have a great sounding chiming mech which replays the recorded chime through a small speaker with a volume control and 8 hour night off switch (+£395) The mech change takes approximate 18-21 days   Please note that the bentwood in mora clocks can move/split when subjected to a change in temperature, humidity and location post shipping- this is normal
