About the Item

Antique George III mahogany and oak longcase clock by Hudfon of Nottingham having a quality inlaid swan neck pediment and central brass finial above an arched glazed door flanked by turned columns with ornate brass mounts. The arched dial is painted with foliate decoration and spandrels, chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer minutes track, date dial with a 30 hour movement striking on the hour and half hour on a bell. It boasts a mahogany frieze and an oak and mahogany inlaid shaped door to the centre of the case. It stands on an oak base with mahogany crossbanding. Measures: H 221cm W 48cm D 22cm Date 1800.
